Melissa Jarvis, MA, LMHC

Clinical Counselor

Hello! My name is Melissa Jarvis, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington State. I earned my master’s degree in Applied Psychological Science from Pacific University and began my career in community mental health, where I gained extensive experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and a wide range of mental health concerns.

I specialize in supporting adults navigating life transitions, anxiety, trauma, and depression. My approach is trauma-informed and client-centered, meaning I provide guidance and support while empowering you to create meaningful change in your own life. I strive to foster a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can process difficult experiences, gain insight, and discover new perspectives.

Together, we will explore what is within your control, build mindfulness skills to stay grounded in the present, and develop practical strategies for managing life’s challenges. I also provide psychoeducation to help you better understand how the brain responds to stress, emotions, and past experiences, allowing you to approach growth and healing with greater self-awareness and compassion. As therapy progresses, these skills can support more effective communication, deeper self-understanding, and healthier, more fulfilling connections with others.

Change is rarely easy, but growth often emerges through life’s most challenging moments. While the journey may be difficult at times, there can also be healing, resilience, and even sweetness along the way.
